Preparation and Usage

Chicken Tikka Masala.

Cooking time: 12-18 minutes

Method: Hob

Ingredients: 400g diced chicken breast, 1 jar of Tesco Tikka Masala Cooking Sauce 500g, 15ml (1 tbsp) of vegetable oil.


1. Heat the oil in a pan, add the chicken and fry for 2-3 minutes or until lightly browned.

2. Add the contents of this jar and stir thoroughly.

3. Cover pan and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is thoroughly cooked, stirring occasionally.

To Serve: Serve with rice or naan bread. For a vegetarian alternative use a variety of mixed vegetables.


Easy Chicken Tikka Masala with Jarred Sauce


  • 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 jar (15 oz / 425g) Tikka Masala sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 bell pepper, diced (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro (coriander), chopped for garnish (optional)
  • Cooked rice or naan bread, for serving


  1. Prepare the Chicken:

    • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or pan over medium-high heat.
    • Add the chopped onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened and translucent.
  2. Cook the Chicken:

    • Add the chicken pieces to the skillet and cook for about 5-6 minutes until the chicken is lightly browned on all sides.
    • Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add the Sauce:

    • Pour the jar of Tikka Masala sauce into the skillet, stirring well to coat the chicken and vegetables.
    • If using diced bell pepper, add it to the skillet at this stage.
  4. Simmer and Cook:

    • Reduce the heat to low and let the chicken simmer in the sauce for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
    • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve:

    • Once the chicken is cooked through and the sauce is heated, remove from heat.
    • Serve the Chicken Tikka Masala hot over cooked rice or with naan bread.
    • Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro (coriander), if desired.
